LEGENDS LICENCE

What is a Legends Licence?

A Legends Licence is a membership card that MUST be held by all drivers at Hi Voltage. A licence costs $10 and is valid for 12 months. All first timers will need to purchase a Legends Licence on arrival in order to race. This is not a drivers licence and will be issued following payment and filling out a registration form.

Why do I need a Legends Licence?
All racers are required to sign up to an annual racing  licence.  Benefits include;
– Access to race our state of the art electric karts
– Use of our helmets
– Access to our online race profile to track your lap times and “RPM” score
– Your own racing balaclava to keep and reuse each time you race
– One free race to use during your birthday month
– Emailed offers and events
If your annual licence expires, you will be required to purchase a new licence before redeeming  unused races.

RACING

How long is a race?

Each race consists of 14 laps based on the lead racer. When the lead driver completes their final lap, each driver will have the chance to complete their current lap before a slow down lap back to the pit lane. Average race time is about 10 mins to complete 14 laps. Junior races are 10 laps, and may be limited to 10 mins if the 10 laps are not completed within this time.

How many people are allowed in a single race?

Up to 10 drivers are allowed on the track at a time.

If I buy multiple races, do I have to use them all on the same day?

No. Our race packs never expire. Buying race packs in bulk is a great way to save money. If your annual licence expires, you will be required to purchase a current licence before redeeming your unused races.

Can the multiple race packs be used for different people?

No. All race packs are to be used by an individual driver and cannot be split or transferred to another driver.

Do I need a reservation?

No. You can arrive and drive at any time and scheduling is based on a first come first race basis. Bookings can be made for groups and parties to help us minimise wait times.

What is the age/height requirements for the junior karts?

Children as young as 8 can race our karts, provided they meet our height restrictions;
125cm tall for the junior karts, and 150cm tall to race the adult karts. This requirement is in place simply to make sure they can reach the pedals and the steering wheel.

What if I am under 18 and unaccompanied by an adult? Can I race?

Sure you can. You will need a parent or guardian to sign our liability waiver. You can find a copy here. Be sure to bring a signed copy along to obtain your licence.

KARTS

How fast are the karts?

Our adult karts can reach speeds in excess of 80km/h. Not only will the speed have your adrenaline pumping, the torque and acceleration of our karts are second to none.

I thought electric karts were slow and quiet?

Myth! Our karts go from 0-80km/h in 5 seconds and the sound needs to be heard to be believed. You won’t be disappointed.

SAFETY

Do I need experience / what training do I get?

No. Our staff will provide you with all the information you require to operate the karts safely.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask our staff, who will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have or send us a question below.

Is it safe?

Absolutely, provided you follow our staff’s instructions. Our Electric Karts are fitted with a roll bar, bumpers, 4 point safety harness, and are speed controlled in the event of an on-track incident. Mechanical components are fully enclosed so you won’t feel the heat of the engine like you would in petrol go karting. Our Melbourne track is indoors and surrounded by a world class, impact absorbing barrier system. Our team will brief you beforehand to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Can I bring my own helmet?

Yes, provided it is a full faced helmet with a visor or goggles and has an approved Australian Standard sticker.

What if I forget my balaclava?

If you forget your balaclava, you can purchase a replacement for $3.
